Since April of this year we knew we were running this race, we knew we were two of the lucky 15,000 women that were chosen to run this race and to say we were thrilled would be putting it mildly! It has been one of our most looked forward to races.... ever!

Last Sunday I ran the towpath half marathon for my 9th race in the 12 in 2012 and loved it.  The weather was perfect, the course was beautiful with the fall colors and the crowd was not too overwehlming but yet enough to keep you going.
Kathy and Bob were there to run the 10K which left from the same place as the half, and Chelsea went with me for the early morning drive to Peninsula...

Last week I got to spend a couple days with girlfriends...
They drove from Michigan and my sister, mom and I drove from Ohio to meet in Shipshewana Indiana.  A cute little amish town that is the location of some of our favorite primitive shops!

Race number 8, for those who are counting...
It was one of my favorite races last year, and one that I had done my best time on. So for this year, expectations were high and as usual, the Air Force came through!
While there were a few bumps along the way, including a .25 mile mix up in going the wrong direction, I still ended the race with a PR.  My goal was 2:10 or under and I signed...

Chelsea is off on another adventure and how could she resist...
She has the opportunity to see California, while getting paid to do what she loves! It was tough to let her go, but already having some trips to California to visit in the works, I'm taking it one trip at a time.
So many people wanted to catch up with Chelsea before she left, so we decided to put together a going away party for friends...

It has been another year of travel and entertainment, and its even more special when that travel is in your own city, and the entertainment is a concert. We knew the moment we heard they were coming to Cleveland that we wanted to see Train, and counted...

Saturday's race in Indianapolis completed my 7th race for 12 in 2012 and it was a great race, one I would definitely do again!
While Isaac was threatening to rain on our "running parade" I had finally decided that I had no control over the weather and would just deal with whatever happened in the morning.

The last two weekends I signed up to run in a couple of 5K's. For a while I didn't think they were worth my time, with the time involved to drive to the location and run for 30 minutes or less it seemed unproductive. However, recently I've been educating myself on ways to improve my running and have found that those 5K's are actually a good way to measure your improvement. 
 
So comparing...

Spending time with my mother and learning more about Dementia along the way. Sometimes its all about changing your expectations of the person so that you can accept them at the stage they are when dealing with this disease. It is something I continue to struggle with. I want the mother that I had, and need to continually remind myself that she is no longer... So instead I'm trying to learn to enjoy...

The other day we had the opportunity to meet up with my cousins and aunt for a lunch get together and to go through some of my grandma's and aunts scrapbook supplies and chocolate molds. I feel so blessed to have these cousins that are great friends too!
My cousin Steph is the youngest and due with her first baby in November. She is closer to Chelsea's age, which just connects our family even more!...
