We get asked that all the time... how's Deb doing?
And there is no easy answer, the explanation routinely changes. Today, Deb is a champion, spending her time laughing a lot and enjoying the moments along the way, besides for the usual questions she asks about the boys, or when she insists on calling Gordon for the answer. There are periods when her reasoning assures that she has forgotten...

Our birth order...where do you fit in?
I was surprised to see how accurate these lists were when it came to my siblings and I. An explanation for our personalities and the differences helps one understand why we may act certain ways, better yet, why others do the things they do.

Discovering your authentic self requires work....
Spending many years trying to please others instead of searching and discovering our own needs can lead us down the wrong path. In a world where judgement comes easily and people are labeled so often by their outward appearance, it is no wonder why so many hide under a veil of doubt.
Learning to embrace who we are at each stage of our lives can be...

It was one year ago today that the world lost the one person that could teach us all a thing or two...
Jane felt immortal to me, like she would live forever. She did not want to be mourned, she wanted to be celebrated and she gave us plenty of memories to celebrate.
She lived life with no expectations and everything was a blessingHer laugh alone could make you laughShe gave of herself generouslyShe...

It nudges out old memories the way a smell or a song do when they take you back to a moment long ago. The last Easter with my brother Joe still appears years later, a sweet memory of him with bunches of flowers for all the girls. That lingering memory inspired my own offering of flowers at Easter. The hardest part for me...
Once the dust of another morning routine has settled, and everyone has gone off in a different direction I find myself lost in thought, my attention spinning  from what I need to get done and then to Debbie and how her morning is going? Followed by the swelling of anger I feel for the injustice of what has happened to her and how brave she was before the surgery.
    A constant...

There are days when things are moving forward and others where I feel I have lost direction...
Bellowing out songs from the seventies station brings about a grin, especially when Debbie serenades with her best "David Cassidy" moves, audaciously singing her rendition of "I think I love you," not missing a beat. Soon my smile fades and the conversation lingers back to the familiar confused chatter.
